the image on the right bottom is a microscopic detail of a butterfly wing. for some reason i was thinking of butterflies when i started this montage in purple... but i wanted a view of a butterfly in a different context.

i'm starting a small series of colour experiments choosing random images i google on the web. 2 days ago i purchased a mint green nail polish. i was so intrigued and inspired by it that i thought it would be a great launching pad for my passion for colour combined with my passion for objects and collage.

so here we go. welcome "colourex{periment}#001" with a counter colour of purple.

Here are a few collages I've made working with some random interior design and decor magazines. The one with the single chair has a pen and ink drawing I made as a background.

a wine bottle label design

My boyfriend and i came up with this idea for a wine label after he bottled his own Amarone wine here in Toronto {very tasty by the way!}. We wanted something that would de-mystify the sometimes pretentious wine label industry. We did this by combining the musical forces of Iron Maiden with Celine Dion and creating a pop-culture infused label - complete with Eddy and Celine imagery. Most people with a background in metal music get the idea... The back of the label goes on to describe how the 2 worlds 'met' to create this wine, complete with song titles from Iron Maiden and Dion respectively.

The label design was so successful that we now have orders for upcoming weddings this summer!
